I'm not a huge fan of Peter/Simone, but there's an exception to every rule. it was very fitting that to Peter he didn't just lose the girl he loved when Simone died, he also lost a significant part of himself he wishes he could get back. I found this particular paragraph quite touching: "When he glimpsed her face again for the first time, he didn’t know if the terrible ache he felt in his chest was for this woman, soft and angelic in the sunlight, or for that wide-eyed boy Peter had buried within himself so many years ago."
And I think it made a very good ending that in the end he doesn't save her but lets fate have its course.

Quite honestly, I'm not a huge fan of Peter/Simone, either. :D It was one of those rare pairing memes, so I was quite out of my element. As such, your comment means that much more--I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for taking time to read and leave such lovely feedback. :)

I really enjoyed this, I like that you gave a bit more weight to Peter's grief after Simone's death. Something I think the show wasn't interested in doing.

Great job!

Thank you! I do feel that the show should have given Peter more of a chance to react to the fates of his girlfriends, so I hoped that this fic would help to at least address the Peter/Simone fallout. Glad that it worked for you, and thanks for reading!
