Kaiba, while not very social (to say the least) is an excellent businessman and he knows how to make the right connections. Justine is one of these connections. Because KaibaCorp used to be in the same business as Hammer Industries, Kaiba finds that playing nice with his step-father's former business rivals casts him in a favorable light. It lets the world know that he's a "team player" so to speak. Even if that's not at all entirely true. As a very new, very young CEO Kaiba knows that public opinion is important: especially when he's taken over such a controversial company. He prefers - in the business scene - to be seen as reasonable as he is ruthless. And he's not stupid, after all. Kaiba knows it's wise to have friends in all sorts of different places. "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" so to speak.
That being said, Kaiba genuinely does like Justine. She isn't someone he hangs around with just because it's good business. He enjoys her company and he likes the fact that she's so considerate of Mokuba -
