I am, yes--I do not think for a moment that it will not be worth it in time, given his rapid growth and potential... it is just that now it is difficult.

And yes, he cut himself off from them, I believe. I quite agree with you--absence of emotion always seems to be a kind of sadness, to me, however illogical that sounds. Loneliness, certainly. He was prepared to dismiss all romance, had I not been so very stubborn with him.

Oh, they are nothing serious. The last one we saw had a rather interesting take on xenobiology, but it was more humorous than anything else.
