Crochet question?

 I know this is a knitting community but as knitting communities are all I belong to I didn't know where else to turn. :)  I'm making a scarf that requires me to crochet a 53" chain stitch.  It doesn't look too hard for me to try to do, even as someone who doesn't crochet, but I don't entirely understand the pattern.  I was hoping someone here ( Read more... )

I think this might mean that you start working in the second loop once you're ready to being crocheting the actual scarf. If you start by working into the first loop, you'll get an uneven edge.. I THINK.

yeah, that's right. Just chain for 53 inches and then when you are done miss the first chain nearest the hook and then slip stitch into all the other chains. Does that make sense? :-S
