As far as I can tell it seems like this is an overdue lead for an actress that the company has been putting through the ringer. She hasn't had a solo lead to her own yet and now she's very clearly (and overdue, if you ask me) the nibante. I mean, she's on both the calendars, posters and schedule in the nibante position. I don't think she'll retire with a small show, because tbh no 'stars' really do that these days.

I mean, there's still a chance she will, a-la Mattsu, Miwacchi or Tomochin. But neither of those three were ever officially nibante, so I want to think of this more if a 'hello have this wonderful lead because we are taking you out of limbo' rather than a 'you will be leaving with the next grand theatre show'. Especially since the next grand theatre show doesn't have a revue attached to it.

OMG I am a huge Miya fan too so I hope she's not retiring. I got to see her twice last year in Nobunaga when I visited Japan and she was glorious. ♥
