The Anna Karenina blog has some clips and photos of her as well (including getting her flu shot ^.~)

I have the 2006 DVD and the production values are really good :) I'm an Ichiro fan first and foremost, but the double box is tempting!

OMG!! /frantically rushes to laptop for a better look

Ahhhhh! I hope these DVDs are region free... does Toho usually release their musicals on DVD? Also lol I guess this means there's no DVD of Asako/Komu's Elisabeth coming out then? (unless I missed it derp)

Toho releases very few DVDs, mostly because they can't secure the rights to release things like Elisabeth and Les Miserables. Anna Karenina is the only official one I know of among the 15+ productions that Maki did for them, though concerts sometimes fare better.

Fingers crossed that if it sells well (and I think the 2006 edition must have sold brilliantly for them to release another), Toho will rethink releasing more OG plays!

Here's hoping! I'm dreaming of a DVD of 'The Three Musketeers', although I suppose the rights and everything would be too expensive...

I guess the good news would be that there already is the Dutch DVD, so maybe the rights owners will be reasonable...
