Fridays. It's like the the day upon which the two of my strongest interests fight it out for brain-space. Politics v Fandom. SRS v NOT SRS. Or, maybe that's not true, because I take fandom very serious-like. I research my fic and everything, and sometimes I even bother to read meta ( Read more... )

tragedy!, tea is god, obsession du jour, srs bsns

The answer to your conundrum is clear. Politics = not srs. Fandom = srs.

Am totally with you on the nuclear deterrant, and the heteronormativity, and I really feel that tentacles would be a positive addition to the leadership debates/electoral contest.

haha! Love that drawing.

I didn't watch it (I know, I'm terrible) so what do you mean by the tories' associations in Brussels? Do they sit in the far-righty gang there?

Finally, why are there so many AUs where one of the characters is a prostitute?
This is either a lazy way of getting character X to have sex with character Y, or else the author just think it's sexy.

I was inspired!

The Tories in the EC associate with the anti-Europe parties, many of which are far-right, ultra-nationalist, racist, homophobic groups who deny climate change. Amongst other things. I think it's a disgrace. Cameron's whole attitude to anyone who isnt straight and married is a big turn-off for me. I'd rather put my head down a toilet than vote for him.

On AUs, it just confuses me how there are just so many. I don't like it myself, which is fine and people can write what they want, it just strikes me as odd.

I had so much fun last night. Watching the debate via the TV and twitter is a truly hilarious experience *g*

So many amusing moments that must have had advisor's facepalming backstage.

Bloody, fucking Tridant. Seriously. That went out of fashion about, oh, I dunno, 1991?

I hate what pretty much everyone says about immigration, but this doesn't surprise me.

Brown saying 'Get real, Nick' was a truly comedy moment. Cringeworthy and obviously rehearsed, but also hilarious.

And The Sun and Sky should possibly try to make it a little less obvious that they are trying to manipulate the polls *eyeroll*

I found last night a lot more heated than last week, so a lot more fun!

The whole obsession with nuclear arsenals just makes me think ARE YOU ALL TRYING TO COMPENSATE FOR SOMETHING? And yeah, the immigration thing is just another example of rumour/racism/political aspiration without any thought to the reality of immigration. Drives me mad.

Oh Sky. I did notice that the "host" guy twice asked inpromptu and in my opinion completely inaprpriate questions which to me was completely against the rules, particularly because both times he attached Nick Clegg. That bothered me very much. On the Sun? If I ever see something true in there I'll have a heartattack and die of shock.

My first reaction to Supernatural was "Bastards did not just go there!" Also, if it was the final season, I don't think I'd care so much for the massive character deaths, but now that they're planning additional season(s), I don't like it.

Really now, some of those gods were older than dirt and Lucifer killed them like he was eating a soft mushy cupcake. There's something terribly wrong about that.

I loved the Trickster! All his eps were good, and now to loose him and know he's not coming back... the makes me really sad. But I do feel at the moment that SPN has just turned into one massive murder-fest. This is really frustrating, and makes me less enthusiastic about another series...

Firstly: Cameron and his heteronormative ideals of "families" can go fuck himself. - I agree entirely. I've kind of been avoiding the whole sharade because that's what I feel it is. Is this politics or fucking pop idol? *Shades head in dismay. Still it is nice to have certain things questioned, even if the whole thing is a bit false.

I WANT GABRIEL BACK YOU BASTARDS - oh god yes! This was exactly how I felt. Bastards!!!!!!! I loved Gabriel! Fear not, for he shall have a lovely long eternity having mad rampant sex with Sam in my sim world :D.
