A colleague is off to the Centre for Infections at Colindale for some training and wanting to book a hotel overnight in central London with good access to the Northern line, or close to the site. Top budget for within M25 is £100 per person per night.

Can any of you suggest tried and trusted hotels?

The Hoxton is well weapon and within staggering distance of Old St tube.

I can't immediately think of anywhere I'd like to stay handy for Colindale. I guess there's the Holiday Inn on the North Circular next to Honour and Brent Cross, but it's an utter wasteland round there.

"The Hoxton is well weapon"

You've been waiting to say that for _years_, haven't you?

(I still can't decide if that's good, bad, or carefully subjective)

There's an Ibis and a Novotel by Euston, should be within budget and they're both chains so "you know what you're getting".
And near a decent pub (like, 5 mins walk) - The Bree Louise - does fine ales, cider & proper pies.
Some good Indian veggie restaurants by those hotels too, and they're no more than 5 mins walk from Euston station itself, so handy for luggage.
Euston is on Northern Line, both branches, so fine for Colindale?

ps I haven't stayed in them but have booked a previous colleague into the Ibis and it was perfectly acceptable - from staying in a Novotel elsewhere though I think they probably have the edge on the breakfast buffet.

You could do a lot worse than one or other of the University of London halls of residence: http://housing.london.ac.uk/cms/short-term-housing/halls-of-residence.html
