Actually, the story line of the case was good--mutilated body, Wo Fat at the crime scene-tying Wo Fat into the crime-etc., etc., etc........--that they felt they had to do it in the context of a talk show/documentary sort of sucked. The one thing that has disappointed me about H 5-0 is the inconsistent writing. And this was the perfect example.
I basically agree with most of this. I think it was possibly the worst episode of the series. Everything was either straight up terrible or at least awkward. And to have them catch Wo Fat at the end of that joke of an episode just made it worse.
I was going to watch the episode streaming, had my speakers on mute for the pre-show commercials, and mistook the teaser for another commercial. Thanks to this write-up, I know to give this episode a pass. And... "funny Asian last names" racism? Seriously? Despite 5-0's having... sometimes questionable politics, shall we say, this is the one show where I would've expected better. Sounds like Chin Ho needs to kneecap a bitch.*
I agree with you so much. IMHO it was TERRIBLE. they are lucky I'm faithful to my shows when the going gets rough, because I'd be tempted to quit if they do more than one that bad in a row.
the whole 'they are HEROES' almost made me gag, it was laid on so thick. ugh.
