I did consider that but the alien ended up being a bit to curmudgeonly to care about their personal lives. :)

"Oh, come on, I wouldn't--" Steve is interrupted by a scuffling sound nearby. The alien is staring at the sand, making angry clicking sounds at an iguana. It reaches out with a tentacle, wraps it around the iguana's body, and tosses it out of sight.

Steve sighs. "Okay, come on," he says, walking over, "let's keep walking."

For some reason, this made me laugh out loud. <3

Woah, wait, what? I am terrifyingly tired so forgive me, but... what, exactly, is Steve? The alien wouldn't let Danny touch him because of the human stench, but he's okay with Steve touching him? :/

Love this so much. I desire - nay, demand, I tell you! - more of this universe. ♥ It would just be incredible, to have a nice long juicy fic set in this universe.

No, Steve is human too. I assume they smell different, whether it's Danny's cologne, hair gel, soap, personal body odor, whatever. The alien just has a very sensitive sense of smell, I guess. Also, he just doesn't like Danny anyway. :)

And thanks! I am actually writing a very similar AU, this one set in Hawaii but also full of aliens, that promises to be very long. :) Now I just need to finish writing it...
