I like Cuddy's manipulative use of discipline. It strikes me as similar to the way she runs the hospital.

And how sad, to have Greg and James only able to comfort each other this way, and to know that even this is forbidden.

Cuddy is very pragmatic about the whole slave thing - she'll treat the slaves whatever way she thinks will get her the results she wants. I think you're right and that's the attitude she takes to running PPTH in canon too.

Greg & James may be forbidden to comfort each other but you know those two, it's probably not going to stop them :)

Thanks for reading and commenting as always !

Oh, what a sad chapter. I usually want to punch Foreman, but in this one I wanted to pop Cuddy. Man, she was cold to Greg :(

I'm curious about this dead slave. Is this a new plot direction (a murder mystery? Some kind of Vogler-related twist?) ... Or is it an incident to make Greg and James realize that you never know what can happen, life's short, better take a chance with someone you love now? These are all rhetorical questions, by the way. ;)

I hope they both get a little comfort sex soon!

Oh, you have to feel a little sorry for Cuddy don't you? Trying to balance the needs of her boyfriend against the needs of her slave, and her boyfriend's slave and keep this weird little family going :) Nah, you probably don't have to feel that sorry for her ;)

Or a little of both, maybe? Or not ;)

Fair play to James for seeking out Greg's companionship in quiet acknowledgement of the dead slave. It reminds me of the episode with Cameron when she befriends the terminally ill cancer patient because someone should be affected by the woman's death, even at her own emotional cost. Regardless of Foreman and Cuddy sleeping, James knows the punishment he will receive will be an extremely harsh one if he's caught, and it's all for Jake almost, someone who can never appreciate the risk, as much as it is for himself and Greg. I know the other slave highlights their own worthlessness, but, in a way, it empowers them too - certainly James anyhow. Hopefully more daring will bring the Wilson out in him :)

Oh, I like that way of looking at it - like James is sitting vigil for Jake. I think Jake's death might be sort of a tipping point for James, who is becoming his own person rather than a blank mind-wiped slave. (Well, that's whats supposed to be happening anyway :)
