Oh, my stars and garters! Shit, this is a dry as hell call. It's about sales. I suppose if one doesn't really know what to do, but it's really kind of a basic "Sales 101" call. I don't get to say anything. I am in "listen mode". Whee. This is going to be about an hour out of my day where I really don't have to do anything, apart from listen in, ( Read more... )

Heh. Saw the email w/ your comment - but looks like the post in hotel_workers is gone. Eh. Yeah ... GM. It's a love/hate thing. right now, I love love love it! My last hotel as GM? Well, I'm at a new job - for about a month now! Don't you love being a GM of EVERYTHING?I just hired a new guest services manager - so that's a HUGE load off. I still do GM and DOS duties, but really, that's easy for me. I'm a former DOS and Hotel Manager, so they go well together now. I don't really update my journal - to busy, but I'd love to read up on your hotel adventures!

lol! If you think you're busy.... I could handle being GM and DOS. I have the good fortune of having a DOS. I don't, however, have an FOM or GSM, or AGM, because my management doesn't seem to think I need one. Hence, I have very little time to update my journal as well. Or do much of anything for that matter. And they wonder why sometimes the smaller things that seem less important fall through the cracks.... Frankly, there are times I feel like they don't like the job I'm doing. If I weren't so overwhelmed, the job would be done better. What can I say though? This is my first GM spot, I am enjoying it, I love my staff, but the workload is really starting to get to me. I just worked another 11 hour day. I left my house 12 1/2 hours ago. I am seriously starting to considering looking for something else. :/
