John's Journal Notes

Feb 08, 2009 23:32

Thought I’d share a few things I thought were interesting from John’s journal. There is a lot of confirmed fanon in there, which makes me smile, but there is also a lot of stuff in there that couldn’t have been in there because the boys didn’t have that info. The journal is synched up with Origins and Rising Son, and sheds a little more light on ( Read more... )

Most welcome. Is there ANYTHING about the Winchesters that doesn't rip people to shreds? *sobs*

Oh, man, you are so right. It's funny how season 1 is considered to the be the happier days considering what the boys had to deal with then. Now....*sobs along with you*

Dean killed for Sam when he was a kid? I can see it, but I can also see why Dean's so broken when he thinks Sam could go darkside. Oh god. Broken Dean.

Sam and Stanford break me in pieces. It was good that he went (for him, I mean), but damn. I might buy John's journal just to read about that.

Also, re: 6 vs 8. I think there could be a difference between knowing there's something to be scared of and knowing what it is. I mean, at 6, I was reading R L Stine and Alvin Shwartz and scaring the bejesus out of myself - I imagine Sam could be doing something similar.

Yeah, God, Dean was so young. *sobs and clings*

Re: Stanford; I feel another, similar rebellion coming on, y/y? *hides*

Re: 6 v 8 - That is true, and as well, I think some of the journal is deliberately vague. But John specifically says that Sam isn't showing a desire to fight the bad guys, instead he prefers to learn about them. So, it seems like he *knows* knows.

It's worth a read, though, for sure. There's all kinds of awesome stuff in there. ;-)

*edited 'cos I can't spell. I blame migraines.

Re: Stanford. Yes. And, seriously, I don't know how Dean is going to deal with it this time. Especially... gah. They're both so twisted around.

Most 6 year olds I've encountered are at least a little scared of things that go bump in the night - you're old enough to be aware and not quite old enough to rationalise - and I imagine Sammy, who isn't being told be authority figures in his life that those things aren't real (at least, in a definitive, believable way), would be no exception to that general rule. (Also, my reaction to being scared of the dark was to read scary stories and mythologies and urban legends - and so was my brother's. So some kids react that way. IDK. Just trying to rationalise timelines.)

I do, but it's something I want to think about ... never.

EVER.

No problem! There's so much info packed in there, I may add stuff later. :)

Lil' Dean with Sammy is so sweet. Sammy as a teenager HURTS.

Gah. Will those boys never stop bludgeoning us with angst?

I forgot - also lots of mentions of Stull, Colt, and even the Winchester family connection and the Winchester Mystery House. *fangirls*
