What you think is *just* what I think. Though I hadn't gotten as far as the black arts in my thinking, but ... Ruby was pretty much sent to hell and gone, "far, far away" per Lilith, which suggests that *getting* Ruby back took some scary mojo.

Your ficlet illustrating this is thus all the more chilling - and scarily possible. Sam w/out emotion, just doing the deed = spoooky! Very, very nicely done!

Emotionless!Sam scares me more than anything in the entire series. After Mystery Spot, I thought about it for days. It makes me horrified.

I'm glad I was able to capture that feeling a little. :-)
