I love Amy. We listened to the two Evanescence albums until we had them memorized. She is a fantastic rock star! I'm a big heavy metal listener and I think she has personally led metal in the best direction it's currently going. Not everyone can be Metallica, but Amy broke the seal on rock stations so we can hear women's voices, you know, maybe more than once a month. Rock stations love to use up their women and then bury them in the annals of "adult mix" -- forgetting the awesome voices of folks like Shirley Manson of Garbage, Sheryl Crow (admittedly more a Tom Petty than David Draiman type of performer, but wow can she songwrite!!!) Courtney Love of course (no one could handle her intensity), even giants like Heart and Stevie Nicks relegated to the past. The casual misogyny of rock DJs, men and women alike, is mindblowing. But they can't keep Amy down! Let this next album blow everyone away, I sincerely pray, because she is our Best Hope for a lasting revitalization of rock (after, you know, Avenged Sevenfold). :D
I was lucky enough to see the original Evanescence live, and she blew me away. The only 3 live shows that have ever floored me were her, TSO, and Apocalyptica, so you know. She's in great company.

I adore her voice. The way she uses it. The twist of her lips around the lyrics. The way the lyrics climb inside of me.
ADORE I TELL YOU.
Thank you for this! I wouldn't have known. And now, I must scurry away to iTunes to download immediately.
