THE BIG REVEAL, Sam has NO SOUL.

And now, Three Ways that This Could Go, as inspired by Other Shows and Stories Ive Read.

1) Sam is actually the most powerful being in the world, which you can only become by being a special kind of hybrid between a human, a shinigami, and a hollow. Hollows have no souls, but when joined with the shinigami ( Read more... )

Yea, I don't buy for a minute that Crowley did everything he claims. He is taking credit for bringing back Sam and Samuel, and likely did neither. Crowley is most definitely in league with an angel, and for me Castiel is a suspect - since he said nothing about Christian being a demon. Balthazar is just as likely though.

I am in love with your reviews. *hugs them*

Thank you so much!

I think there's more to Sam and Crowley than we're finding out just yet... *puzzles*

Have a great trip and happy anniversary!

I am a woefully inadequate commenter, and I usually don't sign in to read. But I do so love your picspam/meta/think-thoughts reviews. You never fail to point out something, or an angle on something, that hadn't even crossed my mind.

Sam’s demon killing powers are tied to his body as near as we can tell. (See Death Takes a Holiday, Swap Meat) Keeping Sam’s soul separate from his body is the best way to make sure nobody knows how to drive that thing.

And this. I love this. It hadn't even occurred to me, but damn. It makes so much sense.

I'm also with you on the wondering how Crowley had the mojo to do what he did. It doesn't really track, and I suspect angelic involvement as well. I also really, really like the way they're using Castiel this season. He feels so organic to the story, instead of inserted as he has at times in past seasons.

ETA: It's a bit late but, happy anniversary!

I missed this!!!!

My two cents on this:

Sam’s demon killing powers are tied to his body as near as we can tell. (See Death Takes a Holiday, Swap Meat) Keeping Sam’s soul separate from his body is the best way to make sure nobody knows how to drive that thing. (So why risk bringing Sam back in any form?)

I agree. Why bring back the part of Sam that can annililate you? Not a smart move. So why bring back Sam at all? Unless, unless it isn't Sam. It might look like Sam and have access to his memories, but what if it is not Sam. Yes, this is my pet theory. It's not Sam, it's a golem!

I think real Sam is not in any part of suffering Hell though.

And I do think that Cas is in on this whole thing somehow, him and his "regrettable acts".

Need more show NOW!!!!
