Apparently we've pissed off the Hindu community? Seriously though - I get that people are always going to scream 'DOING IT WRONG' when it comes to religion and Show - but when you STATE in your article that

"According to reports, in this episode, Winchesters are shown kidnapped by a group of gods, including Ganesh and Kali and held hostage, who ( Read more... )

Seriously.

And I was just as annoyed when Focus on the Family magazine way back in the day said that the first Harry Potter book had spells in it with instructions so that children could learn actual witchcraft when it DOES NOT.

So this isn't a religion-specific rant. It's a stupid people who don't do their research rant.

Not that that isn't obvious, I'm just ... ranting.

it is supposed to be serious and all but when you actually know what goes on in the episode--what is written is pretty hysterical! ;)

Of course! it makes me want to do that as well while shouting it is only FICTION people!

But like you said- people did that with Harry Potter...

It is sad to think that some people just don't get what fiction is supposed to be like.

*sigh* It's like, on the one hand I understand why some might take offense. Those that are deeply religious and/or sensitive. But on the other hand, I feel like if you actually listened to what the characters were saying, you'd have understood that one of the big goals of this episode was for the writers to say that they recognize that the show is very Christian-centric in its mythology. I mean, these gods were standing up for themselves and the fact that these Christian Archangels are about to destroy their planet.

This sort of stuff just makes me tired. lol.

I don't care if people are offended, whatever. I could certainly choose to be offended at how they have chosen to portray MY God and his angels, but I don't because IT'S A TV SHOW.

What annoys me is that the dude that wrote it clearly didn't bother to watch the ep. *spork*

I agree. Naptime? ^.^

Oh me too! I mean, it's only 40ish minutes long. *sheesh!*

Naptime? Sounds great. Hand me that pillow? Thanks. *zzzz*

I have no trouble understanding that some people may feel misrepresented or whatever, but the POINT is, if you are going to write an article about it, check your facts. *headdesk*

(They NEVER misquote or twist *my* religion .... AHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHA, sorry I couldn't keep a straight face on that one. But HI. TV SHOW OF AWESOME. Move along.)
