Happy New Year!

Jan 02, 2010 10:43

Wow, 09 went like, *snaps fingers*, didn't it?

For this year, I want to spend more time with my husband, catch up with my out of state friends more, eat less bread (ah-HAHA), catch up on my reading (Yes, Good Omens, I'm looking at YOU next ...) and GET A NEW JOB.

Oh. And get a pony. Because hai ... pony.

So, last year I did that end of the year fic meme. My total word count was 120,639. I'm going to do it again this year so everyone can laugh at how much I vanished off the face of the Earth last year, LOL.

Word count total for 2009 - 54,496

*facepalm*

Quality, not quantity ... right?

Since there are so few, some of these might be doubles.

My favorite story this year (of my own):

It's a tie, but since I'm using Fire and Ice for the next question, I'm going to say Blood Ties. It was my first Big Bang, and it turned out to be more of a journey and more special than I could have ever imagined at the start. *hugs it close*

My best story this year:

Fire and Ice. There is enough meta in that story to kill a small country's entire population of cows. Don't ask me what that means. Notice I haven't written anything but 1 drabble since - I've just been posting stuff I wrote before but never posted. We broke it.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

The Boy King's Crossroad. Maybe I posted that one at a weird time. I realize the setting was SHAMELESSLY ganked from Harry Potter - but that's what makes it COOL!

Most fun story:

Chosen Ones Anonymous. Because I seldom write crack, and I NEVER write crossovers, and I was blown away by how much everyone loved that one, lol. You DO get more flies with honey, I suppose.

Most sexy story:

Well - the first story I posted all year was Burn, which ... is flocked. *shifty eyes* 'Cos hey - my mom comes over here sometimes. HI MOM! :D (Sam/Ruby)

Story with single sexiest moment:

I personally think Blood Ties has that one. I like it when Sam casually flirts to get information from interviewees. *giggle*

Story with single sweetest moment:

I personally think that Release is the sweetest moment. The whole thing. In a kill me why don't you kind of way. Plus I still think it could end like that, and I'm not sure that I'd mind.

Most unintentionally *telling* story:

Backdraft. Because when everyone else watches an episode and goes, 'WHAT THE HELL WAS SAM THINKING!?', I'm watching it and hearing this kind of thing in my head. So it's not so much a story as it is an episode review, LOL.

"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story:

Probably For the Fallen. I mean, I don't find it wrong ... but I'm amazed fandom didn't lynch me. ;)

Most disappointing  Self Indulgent story:

I don't post stuff I find disappointing, so you get self indulgence instead. Just Breathe. I wrote it for an h/c meme, and I've always wished I had stuck it in the Regen verse, because it totally fits in there. Self indulgent only really because I really cut loose with it, and I love getting to do that.

Hardest story to write:

Fire and Ice. There are no words for what it took to write that. Holy cow. It turned out SO different from what I first envisioned, and I wouldn't change a LETTER of it. No really. All the letters are where they go. Writing it was easy, editing it was like putting together one of those 5 million piece puzzles of nothing but ladybugs.

Easiest story to write:

For Posterity. I had that sucker up before I went to work the next morning after Jump the Shark aired. And I really like it.

This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most:

Blood Ties. Good times, good friends, good hard work, and LOTS and LOTS of angst and heartbreak. :)

Happy New Year, everybody!!

fanfic, meme, happy new year
