Everyone was off the bus mainly so they could stretch their legs. They had been driving non-stop for two days now. Morgan was looking through his binoculars at the town of Weedsville. Penelope had brought the scanner and confirmed that the first ten miles were clean.
"So, it's safe?" J.J. asked.
"Yeah, but Morgan likes to stare for another five minutes or so... just in case," Reid said as he scratched out the 15,032 on the sign. "When did the world become so over populated?"
"The second Baby Boom," Emily said matter of factly.
"It was a rhetorical question Emily," Reid muttered.
"He knows everything," Morgan explained as he put his binoculars away.
"Yeah, I do," Reid said practically leering at Morgan.
"I'm going to pretend that didn't just happen," Emily said. "Who wants to stay and watch the bus?"
"Reid and I will," Morgan said quickly.
"We will?" Reid asked surprised. "I mean, yeah. We will."
"Alright. The two love birds can watch the bus," Emily said. "J.J. Pen. Let's go."
"Morgan, this is so romantic," Reid said as they got back on the bus.
"Reid, hold on a second. I need you to do something."
"Oh, what I'm going to do to you."
"Reid... I need yuo to hack Penelope's computer and see if you can find any information on Emily."
"Why?"
"Please, just do this for me."
"I'll try. I'm not really good with computers. I can tell you their history." Reid said down in front of the laptop and started typing.
"Are you in?" Morgan asked.
"No, I"m sorry. Her system is too complex."
"Damn. Well, I'll just have to corner her again."
"Can you tell me what this is about?"
"I'm not sure yet. It's probably nothing. Or it could be huge. I don't know." Morgan sighed and collapsed into one of the seats.
"You need to relax," Reid said. He sat in the seat behind Morgan and began massaging his shoulders. "You know, I thought you wanted to get me alone so you could have your way with me."
"That was Plan B," Morgan said with a laugh.
"Look at you. Always prepared."
Morgan turned around and gently kissed Reid. "I never told you, but I have feelings for you too."
"I know," Reid said. "I knew before you did." He kissed Morgan back as he unbuttoned his shirt. "I told you we'd pick up where we left off."
"It's going to get annoying with you always being right." Morgan titled his head back as Reid began lightly sucking on his pulse. "Oh God... I think I can deal with that, though."
"Wise man," Reid said as he moved around and kneeled between Morgan's legs. He started to unbuckle his belt when Morgan stopped him.
"What if they come back?"
"This is what they're expecting us to be doing. I would have been more worried if they came back while we were on the computer. Now relax."
And with that last 'relax' Reid released Morgan's erection from his pants.

"So what did you boys do while we were out?" Penelope asked as everyone helped carry the supplies onto the bus.
"I kicked his ass at cards," Reid said setting the last of the water down on a seat.
"It's not fair. He cheats," Morgan said.
"I do not!"
"Counting cards is cheating."
"I want to play cards," Penelope said. "How come you wait until we're gone to play?"
"I forgot I had them," Reid said. "I didn't really have much use for them."
"Well count me in too," J.J. said. "I actually used to be pretty good."
"You won't win against him," Morgan said as he passed the deck to J.J. to start shuffling.
"Emily, you want to play?" Reid asked.
"I should probably start driving."
"You deserve a break. Come on. One hand?"
"Oh, alright. As long as you don't cheat."
"I don't!"
"Yes, you do," Morgan said as they all settled around the table to play. One hand turned into two, than three, than four. They grabbed the six pack from the sidecar and each had a beer except Emily who declined since she had to drive. She never did, though, since they ended up making a whole night of it and decided in the end to camp outside of town.
"That was fun," J.J. said. They had all laid down in their seats as soon as the alarm was set.
"It was," Emily admitted," but tomorrow I need you all up bright and early to make up for last time."
"Always a drill sargent," Penelope said with a giggle. "Goodnight everyone."
A round of 'good nights' were said and the lights were shut off. Morgan lay thinking about what Penelope had said. What if Emily had been in the army and had run away? While that was dishonorable, he wouldn't blame her. The army wasn't doing a good job. In two years they only managed to set up contained neighborhoods in the east and midwest.
Suddenly, Morgan thought he could hear moaning. He bolted up his gun already raised. He glanced through the window and saw several zombies coming from town. He turned to wake the others and noticed they were all up too.
Emily started barking orders "Morgan. J.J. I want you to open the emergency windows and shoot from there. Garcia, man the computer. Ge the spokes running and use any other tricks up your sleeve. I'll be on the roof shooting from above. Reid, run ammo to us when needed. Keep your gun close, though."
'Army deserter was not far off,' Morgan thought as he popped open the window. The zombies weren't close enough yet to hit from his position.
Emily took the machine gun from the pile of weapons and crawled through the emergency exit. She began shooting, taking down most of the zombies. Any that made it through, Morgan and J.J. took care of. Reid ran ammo to everyone while getting in a few shots. Penelope seemed to be playing Solitaire after she started the outside defense and it ran itself.
The attack was minimum and they had taken care of it within twenty minutes. Emily jumped back in the bus and closed the door.
"Good job everyone," she said. I'm going to drive. I can't sleep surrounded by corpses."
"Me either," J.J. said as she stared in disgust at a head that had gotten stuck on a nail. She reached out with her baseball bat and pushed it off.
"I don't think I'll be able to sleep period," Penelope said.
They sat in silence for awhile as they left Weedsville behind them. There was only one thing that could get the image out of anyones head.
"My mother loves to volunteer," Morgan said. "Still does even after the outbreak."
Everyone listened to Morgan talk about his family and then shared stories of theirs. Family, whether alive or honoring the memory of them, kept them going at times like this. It was one thing that separated them from the undead.
