Last night I went to DC's LGBT synagogue in the hopes of meeting some Nice Jewish Girls, because I am tired of being single and I feel like I'd have better luck getting a relationship to work with a Jewish woman than I have in my recent dating history.

And I figured, even if I didn't meet someone, at least I'd have a nice night at shul.

I feel you on the Orthodox front. Sometimes going to Reform services feels more like going to Catholic Church with Maze than shul.

Yeah. And it wasn't even translations of Hebrew prayers, it was just random modern poems. I don't get it.

The funeral mass we went to today was all in English and not that I grew up with it or anything, but it seemed like it was missing something not being in Latin. (the last few we've been to were in Latin which may be the cause)

This is probably a stupid idea, but I was reading kass's A Narrow Bridge and it mentioned a shadchan. So I wondered, are there any shadchanin who work with LGBT people? Maybe you could have a professional do the searching for you. I refuse to believe that you're the only cute Orthodox lesbian in the world. :)

Sadly, shadchans won't work with LGBT folks. But I appreciate the thought!

I was pretty sure traditional shadchans wouldn't, but I didn't know whether someone had decided to take up a new profession catering to LGBT folk.
