Oh man this sounds good: Malai Kofta Curry. I think I've even had a variation on it in a restaurant near here, so I must try this recipe and see if it's as good as it looks.

This site also has a bunch of other vegetarian main dish recipesI've been trying to find a recipe for Paneer Butter Masala (my favorite indian dish) but I've run into a lot ( Read more... )

Malai kofta is one of my favorite vegetarian dishes. The specific recipe you're citing is different from the one I know and love. Once you've made it a few times, consider adding other vegegables or legumes like chick peas, carrots, or sweet peas. Some people also use powdered nuts, roasted cashews, or raisins. Have fun experimenting!

I'm pretty sure the variation I had included peas, carrots and possibly other things. Crushed roasted cashews have got to be wonderful in there, and because I'm incapable of making anything without adjusting and experimenting, I'm certain some will end up in my first attempt.

Are there any other indian vegetarian dishes that you particularly like?

Oh, let's see ... paneer dehli korma (cheese in tangy cream sauce), aloo gobhi (potato and cauliflower curry), veggie pakora (fritters), aloo mutter sabzi (potato and pea curry), et al.
