I don't lunge--I know you don't like that! I was coming in smoothly and obviously! - Trickwood, the second Joceline, a teenage Conall

"OW."

Joceline was debating between feeling guilty about hitting her little brother--again--and still freaking out about the circumstances. "I've told you not to lunge at me, 'Nol!"

"I wasn't lunging!" he protested, hands still clamped firmly down on the goose-egg on the top of his head. "Why would I be stupid enough to lunge anywhere near you?"

He had a point, she had to admit that. "It sure looked like you were lunging at me."

"I was coming over to say good morning, 'Lin!" he scowled, then winced again as the motion pulled at his scalp. "See if I do that again."

" . . Sorry," she said. "I think you move faster than I think you should."

"Not fast enough," he replied, gingerly letting go of his head. Blood welled up again as he broke the fragile scab that had formed between his palm and the tear in his scalp, but didn't drip down out of his hair. "You still got me," he added, rolling up ( ... )

I would like more of these two, please. Now would be fine.

That? Is ADORABLE. Love their interaction, but I am curious about where this relationship of accidental injury is coming from...

I really want to start getting her and Annaliese in play in the Trickwood. *eyes pile of DOOM of to-be-written* I'm glad she reads well?

He keeps appearing out of nowhere on her and her hindbrain goes AUGH*SMACK*.

He'd be a force to be reckoned with when he was grown, assuming she didn't accidentally kill him beforehand.

*cackle* Big little brother vs. big sis reflexes of DOOM. She is apparently still looking for the baby puppy Conall. Too damn cute.

It's more the too-fast-for-a-standard-issue-wolf that's the problem, really. Mages' sons get a bit bigger helping of the amped-up reflexes and strength than someone who's just born able to change shapes. >.>

Actually, she does. Fairly extensive one, even, which is what's throwing her with him. He looks like a wolf, but he moves too fast--her brain registers 'threat-that-looks-friendly' faster than 'that's-my-brother-Conall'.

Once he gets older/bigger, he gets better at moving about the right speed, and he's also strong/fast enough to catch the stick-to-the-head response, but as a teenager who's really just hitting the growth spurt both physically and magically . . .
