"You really are a bit of a philistine, aren't you," she told him in half-amused, half-admiring tones. "No appreciation for the finer things in life--"
"I appreciate them," he protested quickly, clutching at his jacket protectively as she tugged at the loose thread holding the elbow patch in place.
"Mm, yes, on me," she agreed, slithering just enough in her silk dress that he was thoroughly distracted. "Or with me, or for me--"
"... That's not fair," he said, trying not to just stare down her cleavage.
She dimpled. "Well, no, but when have I ever been fair? Come on, I have a new tea-shop and dance-hall to show you."
"You're dragging me to a tailor again, aren't you."
"And a record shop afterwards!" she told him gleefully, "as I need your help choosing gifts--"
