She circled the izba once, as slowly as she had patience for, mouthing the numbers as she counted how many things had once been bolted into place and were now gone, leaving gaping holes in the sides of the thing.

Metal didn't rust well, in the cold, but it shattered when things hit it; her horse complained of small metal shards banging off its sides, about the nearness of the stones by the hulk, about the residual heat radiating off the thing.

That had her worried, really. Gutted houses shouldn't still be warm.

What's an izba? (traditional and horses, if necessary)

izba; 'hut'. Smaller than a terem, bigger and less mobile than a horse.

And possibly--if so I'd bet it's the first one she visits.
