I prefer the term "sperm donor". It's a lot more derogatory and to the point. :)

Yeah, I've used that too. Usually not in front of the kids, though.

First Time I Met Chris anonymous March 9 2006, 13:00:03 UTC
I can't recall how old Chris was when I first met him, but I'm going to guess and say 5.

I was at Brooks house for the very first time trying to fix her computer. (Old IBM in the cast iron case. :)) And the first thing Chris said to me was, "You know, My Mom is married to my Dad."

I wasn't able to figure out why he needed to point it out, but I'm betting that it had to do with the little guy hoping against hope that his "Dad" was coming back.

I can't figure out what goes through a guys head when he abandons his kids.

I can't either. It's like when Brook and I got married, and I wanted to adopt the kids. My parents kept saying to take it slow and there was no need to rush into adopting them. I think they were thinking that Brook and I would split up and then I'd be saddled with child support. What I don't think they ever realized was that I considered these to be my kids from the moment I proposed to Brook and she said yes. If I wasn't ready to be responsible for the kids, I had no business asking her to marry me. If anything had happened to split us up, I would still have wanted to be a part of the kids' lives and I would have gladly paid child support.
