When I move my cursor over someone's icon, I see a white rectangle with the word "Loading..." What on earth is it planning to load, someone tell me please! (and no, mine isn't the fastest computer in the world, why do you ask? ;) )

It loads basic user information. For example, if I mouse over yours, it tells me:

Taelle is your mutual friend.
Lj-Talk: Offline
Remove friend
View: Journal, Profile

I needed a Christmassy icon, and what better than to make my current main muse look festive? That he's a bit disgruntled now just goes with the character.

If you go to Viewing Options

http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/

You can turn it off, uncheck "Show contextual popup"

Also on the same page you can turn off the navigation strip which I personally hate!

Another useful thing on that page are the options for image and video place holders.

Thanks, I think I will. I don't like unnecessary things (navigation strip included)
