Remember the Hooker!Verse fic where That Other Girl manipulated the crap out of Penny and the ending seemed to imply that Chick and Critic weren't going to have happy fun times anytime soon? Well... She cried out in an almost-sob, clawing at the Critic's arm and he opened his eyes with a groan, shaking her lightly.

"Will you shut up?"

"Huh?" Her head was starting to really hurt again.

"It was a rough night and I want to fucking get some sleep."

Her eyes shot open and she took in her surroundings; her apartment, her bed, her - Critic cuddled close and staring at her with a half-worried, half-pissed expression.

She was going to tell him, gonna spill everything out, but when her mouth opened, all she could blurt out was "We're cuddling."

He snorted, almost affectionately and settled back down, his head resting on her chest. "I won't tell if you won't."

With a small smile, she followed his lead, kissing the new cut on his neck beforehand and going back to her usual dreams of monsters screaming.
