It wasn’t difficult for the mind of a child to process animal behavior. Reading books, or seeing them in person, children can pick up different qualities and traits of beasts they imagined they could be. Stalking the prey as it passed through her territory, ducking and hiding behind tables and pots of flowers to successfully trap and kill the prey that lurked where the lion dwelled. “The lion stalks it prey…” she muttered softly after hearing the call, with the most fierceness she could muster. With one quick pounce, she let out her best roar at the taller man. “ROOOOAAAAARRRRR!” she snarled, baring false fangs and claws. “Here I am!” she laughed trotting over to the older man, tugging his sleeve and running around him in circles.

He'd been so busy looking for the little girl that he hadn't even considered that she'd stalk up on him so the roar made him jump and let out a slightly girlish sounding shriek before he laughed and dropped down to a crouch to be on her level.

"You got me! You're a very fierce lion," he joked as he watched her running around, grinning widely at her. God, she was really, really cute, in her little costume and actually pouncing him. He mock-roared back at her as he stood slightly so he was leaning forwards, arms raised and hands held like claws. "And now the big lion is going to catch you," he let out another play roar and moved his fingers as though he were flexing his claws, "and take you to get something to eat!"

Laughing at his childish shriek, actually giving him a good fright which she had not really planned to do, but it was good for her all the same. “I got you! You screamed!” she laughed, covering her mouth with her paws ( ... )

Shaking his head, he tucked his hair behind his ears as he continued to laugh, watching Saber dash around. It was almost a shame that she wouldn't remember any of this after she went back to normal but he would and god would he have fun with this.

"You certainly are," he agreed and tilted his head to one side as he watched her, wondering what she was thinking. She really had to be from a very different time if witches still got burned at the stake although he didn't want to say that innocent people were the ones who really suffered, with any witch or wizard able to perform a Flame Freezing Charm. As she charged away again he start to get to his feet before she appeared back with a wooden sword, probably handmade. He grinned a little before schooling his expression into shock, hands up in a gesture of innocence and not being a threat. "Oh no! I've been caught, I am no match for you!"
