LJ-cut did not work and I haven't seen the movie @.@ But you're the second person who recently shared that they didn't enjoy the movie as much as they would have wanted.
Would watching it in 3D be worth it though? The BF and I are gonna watch it this Friday and we're debating on whether going 3D would be worth the money or not.
It is because of my pre-existing attachment to the source material, I swear. I LOVE the book and everything it is. I swear this movie ignores it. I really have to say the 3D is not worth the extra money. There aren't very many parts that actually look good in 3D except for maybe...the end battle.
I know the feeling of the source material vs. screen adaptation. I was raging at most of Stardust but I tell myself "If I didn't read the book I'd like it" @.@
My friend was telling me the script was horrible in that predictable, poorly paced sort of way and that I'm better off looking for a pirated DVD.
THE ICON PERSONIFIES MY FEELINGS TOWARDS THE MOVIE!!!!taedenitespiralMarch 17 2010, 02:08:53 UTC
Yeah, exactly like that, that's a great example....but this is worse because this one tries to say: NO! THE ORIGINAL WAS WRONG! THIS IS THE WAY IT WAS, YOU JUST DON'T REMEMBER!
The script is painful sometimes, LOL RANDOM TALKING HORSE...in ONE SCENE XD. It also tries to make Alice in WOnderland into some kind of LOTR fantasy epic, which it is NOT. And it moves SLOW LIKE A 56K MODEM ON DIAL UP IN A RAIN STORM.
It is a renter, for sure. I definitely advise against the 3D. I saw it in 3D and seriously, there was a distinct lack of 3D. I forgot it WAS IN 3D. It wasn't shot in 3D, and as such...isn't worth shelling out the extra money for. I speak from experience.
