Angel Island fire last night from my bedroom window. They think it was caused by campers.

I slept with all the windows open and barely smelled smoke. It must have been blowing in the opposite direction. Was it smoky where you are?

it's always smokey where i am
but no.

Not scary, really, since it's an island surrounded by water. But sad. It's a National Historic Landmark with a lot of cultural significance and history. (It's where Chinese immigrants were detained for years during the Chinese Exclusion Act in the late eighteen hundreds).

I feel guilty admiring how beautiful it was burning, but it was beautiful!

I know what you mean - I couldn't see it as well when we had the hayman fire here, but I did have some good orange glow....it's nice, but also sad.

But you have a ROCKING bedroom view!
