I've just discovered that John Aegard, author of the " The Golden Age of Fire Escapes" has a bunch of his stories available on his webpage: www.johnzo.com.

I'm generally not wild about remixes, but "The Great Old Pumpkin" is awesome. This may be a Peanuts thing: I love Shalom Auslander's "Smite the Heathens", and (the idea of) Dog Sees God, too.

Hee! Well, it's what I call them, anyway, though I've seen the term used in a few other places, too. Nothing official about it, I expect.
