Mister Batou...Where did you go?

[Batou's Comm ID vanished from the network. His room is inaccessible. He's not answering pings.

There can be only one conclusion.]

how to tell when 'koma is traumatized, brevity for once

Yes.

[The search finishes with a soft internal noise that only Musashi can hear, and a surprisingly long list of names comes with it. Musashi lists them all, one by one, carefully.]

Sulphur
Conrad Achenleck
Chase Stein
Detective Sherlock Holmes
The Ship's Mechanic, B
Mister Batou
First Mate Kage

[There is a pause]

I don't think the Captain did this.

[Rfena pauses, hearing the list.]

Two crew members...

[There's an edge to her voice.]

It doesn't mean he isn't behind it; the chef went missing before, as well, and has only just been replaced.

But at the same time, there didn't seem to be any strife between the Captain and the First Mate.

I am... Was it really just coincidence.

[Reffy doesn't realize she's going through that stage where she tries to blame other people for things happening.]

This is like before, with the mirrors. There is someone trying to get onto the boat. They're working against the Captain.

[Musashi pauses, remembering what the Major and Batou had said about the incident, where no other passenger could hear]

They were trying to subvert the passengers, before. I believe the two incidents are connected. We should side with the Captain.

[Because if Mister Batou's leaving is in any way connected with those other forces...]

[She listens, and grudgingly finds herself agreeing.]

Because while the Captain may not be trusted, we have even less reason to trust someone from... 'outside'.

The Captain will hurt you if you don't follow orders.

The others will hurt you no matter what you do.

[This is a very familiar way of the world, for Musashi, and likely, for any robot.]

What is the saying...? Better the devil you know.

[Another pause.]

Do you think they are responsible for the disappearances directly, or indirectly? Sulphur did... she did not want to go home. She would not have agreed to help.

There isn't enough information.

Yes.

...Thank you for your help anyway.

*The first mate was one of the few crew members Marco thought could be helpful. Okay, pretty much the only one.*

Missing crew does not sound good, especially the First Mate.

I find the timing most suspicious as well.

Indeed...I wonder if its connected to the missing stars. Nothing else last night seemed to hint at disappearances...at least not what I heard.

Stars were missing?

...I wonder if whatever illusion the captain uses was damaged?

Yes. It remains to be seen if they'll still be gone tonight...I was going to check, I believe a few others were as well.

That's possible. The thunder and lightening--or whatever the flashes were--may have had something to do with damage.

Can you let me know if they still are? And if the bird is still there as well.

[Talkin' to Ironhiiide.]

Perhaps someone is trying to get to the Captain, but I agree with Musashi. Redd leaves well enough alone, often enough. We don't know who is outside.
