After settling Cordelia up on the couch with enough pillows to smother a football team, a glass of ice water, migraine medicine, and something to read, I went upstairs to get our rooms ready. She hadn't asked me to do that for her, but I figured if she was hurting, then she probably wouldn't want to deal with finding a room and settling in. I ( Read more... )

I got off the couch when I heard Fred. With my hand on my temple, I tried to stop the throbbing that the visions caused. The medicine was beginning to kick in and since I didnt have a proper bed yet, The couch was sounding better and better. Catching up to Fred, I looked at her.

"What is it Fred?"

The girl always wanted to help but at the moment, all I needed was a pillow and a comfy place to sleep.

I gave Cordy a smile and continued up the stairs, "There's something up here that I need to show you." I walked to the door that led to her room and waited, a big grin on my face. I just hoped she liked the room I did up for her.

When she got to the door, I gave her another grin and said, "Ok, you have to close your eyes. It's a surprise." I smiled and waited for her to close her eyes before opening the door.

Walking up the stairs to a room, I looked around the place. Even though the mansion was big, it still was uber-creepy. "Did you find out that we have heat? Because that would be really good!"

"Ok, you have to close your eyes. It's a surprise."

I looked at Fred. You've gotta be kidding me! She obviously was serious about me covering my eyes. A sigh escaped from my lips as I did what she said. I just hope she would lead me to where ever she wanted me to go.

"A surprise? You mean Keanu Reeves actually came?!"

I grinned and shook my head, "Nope....look." I opened the door to her room and stepped back to let her take in the entire scene. I'd turned down the comforter on her bed and lit a few of the candles she'd had in her luggage. It smelled good in there and I'd also made a fire in the fireplace so it was all nice and warm and cozy.

I watched her face trying to see if she liked it and if she was happy. Maybe I shouldn't have touched her things. I knew Cordelia was particular about her clothes and shoes, especially her shoes, so maybe I should have left her things alone. She still hadn't said anything, so I whispered, "Do...you...I mean...well, do you like it, Cordy?"
