Clovember: More casual outfits (include a Tailoring Triumph)

Nov 16, 2015 23:08

When terrible international events strike, I never know what to do on social media. On one hand, it feels churlish and trivial to be posting pictures of clothes without making any attempt at a meaningful, sensitive response (intellectual or emotional) to events in Paris and Beirut. On the other, the amount of thought and research required for me to ( Read more... )

I love that skater dress! I've never worn anything scuba fabricy, does it keep a stiff shape beautifully!

Scuba fabric is well-named: it has that waterproof, grip-the-body-with-its-uberstretch feel to it! After this dress I've decided I prefer more breathable garments, but it does have both body and drape...

Love love love your red, white, blue look (that counts as a comment on Paris, surely?) and especially the pendant. I see what you mean about the symmetry - personally, I'd prefer it off-symmetrical, but I'd ideally want it at 45 degrees or 60 degrees so it was DEFINITELY off centre, not just a little bit!

It is SO FRUSTRATING! I have tracked down a commercial jewellery repairer that may be able to do the job, but I'm thinking it will cost me (probably more than the pendant itself, alas).

I like both outfits. The dress is cute (I recently bought a dress from Boohoo, via Asos, and it's currently my favourite thing. I bought the smallest size thinking, 'It's so cheap that I won't care if it doesn't quite fit', but it does! I'll have to wear it to Pendragons one day.)

Not a huge fan of the shoes in the second outfit but I really like the rest. Again, it's something I would wear myself. That necklace is annoying though. Symmetry or nothing.

Ha, not one for the flower-toe flat? I like these ones (especially the shade of red), but they're very flat and not very flattering with anything other than skinny jeans, alas. You should check out the actual Boohoo website... they go down to a size 6 and have *oceans* of stock...
