Savannah is still around. The vet encouraged us to try and treat inflammation of her spine instead of focusing on her arthritis. In fact, he thinks that has more to do with her incontinence and even her pain than the arthritis itself. So we agreed to try spinal injections and treating her with steroids. I was talking to an accquaintance about how even if our dogs lived to 25 we'd still be asking for just one more day. You are never, ever truly over them... I expect to be a right mess once my pooka exits stage left.
