I love that you're naming your daughter Persephone. I don't have anything else valuable to add since we're still in the middle of renovations ourselves, with 13 weeks to go.
Oh wait, maybe I do. I wouldn't worry too much about your bathroom feeling depressing. We had a very blah, basic bathroom when we were potty training E and the decor never phased him. I found letting him him pick out his own seat was far, far more important. I can't tell you how much I despised seeing Elmo in my bathroom, but it (mostly) worked for him; so much we had to tell him it "broke" 3 years later because his rear no longer fit on it and he was getting red marks.
Thanks. We wanted something unusual, because B's name is unusual, and also a strong name that means something. All the grandparents hate it, which is strictly a bonus in my book. :)
Thanks for the input on E. I just don't want him to be, like, afraid of the bathroom or something. But maybe if we let Hayden pick out the seat himself?
I saw the house personally last night, and it looks great! I know you are your own worst critic, love, but I totally did not notice the bathroom not having a center towel, or no color scheme in the kitchen. You're incredible and about to have a baby, don't be too hard on yourself! I am so proud of you guys and equally happy for you, too. You rock!! heart!
Thanks! I'm sorry we haven't gotten to spend a lot of time together lately. I'm just so tired all the time, and when I'm not tired, I'm still not having the energy to do much beyond leaving the house. Plus, in my house, my rules! No stupid family drama to contend with. :)
Thanks for all the work you did to help make this possible. You gave us a HUGE start by setting the kitchen up while I was still in Kansas. :)
I love "nesting", or at least getting everything set up like a home. I'm impressed. I know it doesn't seem like you're anywhere close to being done, but you should step back and see how much you've done so far! wow. The guest bathroom reminds me of how you always had an awesome cache of supplies in your guest bathrooms. I never seemed to need anything that I couldn't find in a drawer or under the sink, even if I forgot my own. I still think you're an AWESOME hostess. Is there really no way for you to get your stuff back from Buckley? I mean, it sounds like some of your significant stuff ran away w/him, and I would think that it would be something he could mail, especially if you paid for the shipping. P.S. the emptiness of my fridge always has to do w/how close it is to payday, and even then, it's usually full of bottles of water and fruit, so not really actually a "full fridge".
Thanks. :) I don't know why, but meeting the needs of the guests that I don't even know we'll ever have is, like, hugely important to me. B was amazed when he came into the guest bathroom and saw the supply of everything, like, "Do people really need all this?"
Honestly, I'd rather not deal with Buckley any more than I have to. Not because we ended on bad terms or anything, but it would be a bigger pain in the ass to get the stuff from him than to just order new stuff. I already have a partner who likes to take three weeks at a time to accomplish a task; I'd rather not put my cookware on the line like that. And I don't really mind if Buckley wants to hold on to it. He was a good roommate.
I know, my fridge thing is completely neurotic. It's one of my weird hang-ups.
