It was one of those awkward things that neither really expected or really knew what to do with.
What had started with an innocent offer to sleep over, because Crona was scared of the dark and Maka sighed because Crona was really afraid of everything but she should learn turned in to trying to play games to calm the other Shibusen student, to word games and dare games, which turned to sleeping beside them to keep them calm, which only made them uptight, which turned to touching and desperation for contact, for loving contact like Crona had never known and Maka always had trouble truly getting out.
It wasn't until after, flushed and panting, that they both truly realized what they'd done. A blush, and Maka muttered something about "well, do you still feel scared of the dark", and Crona's stuttered ramblings about "n- no, not really" were interrupted by a shudder and Ragnarok, cackling and flexing soaked fingers.
It's hard to make Byakuran look sloppy. Even as he stands at the school gates, a jacket slung over his shoulder and tie loosely hanging at his neck, he still looks the epitome of a model student or perhaps even more. It's an afternoon glazed in the heat that stands as a reminder that summer still has a month more to go, even if those in their class don't have the time to enjoy it. And, as that sun sets, it sends Byakuran's hair glistening in its light, giving him an almost inhuman radiance
