biopic poll

I just watched Invictus (2009) and found it surprisingly understated. The premise being what it was - post-apartheid South Africa unites through love of rugby! - I thought for sure it would carry an inspirational message or two, but nope, it was the details that made this movie. I was going to vote in this poll but then I realised that I've barely seen any of the movies, just Lawrence of Arabia, Dogma, Braveheart and Elizabeth, and possibly some of The Hours. I should probably remedy that.

TBH I've only seen about 1/3 of Lawrence of Arabia but shhh. "The Queen" was fun. In fact, none of these are going to bore you (except maybe "The New World.") Yes, you should definitely watch more!

I've got a very bad habit of only watching "popcorn" movies when left to my own devices. I don't really know why because it isn't as if I enjoy them more than things that actually make me think.

I adore Lawrence of Arabia, the cinematography is stunning.

I am the same way! I leave popcorn movies (or junk food books for that matter) with a feeling of profound dissatisfaction. But I think that's part of the appeal of it. You have to work really hard to understand good movies or good books, and with the mass-appeal stuff you don't. Anyway sorry for the late reply!
