"Sporty Sweetheart Summer Dress" T-Shirt ReCon

Feeling crafty...found old shirts...cut...cut...cut...sew...sew...sew...I make scHtuF!

The other night, I had a idea on something I could make out of this "Hooligans" shirt that is way too big for me now (I've lost 30 pounds since I bought it!) and while the final result didn't match my original plan, I'm still pretty pleased with how it came out ( Read more... )

Love it! Did you gather the top after cutting the sleeves off and then re-attach? I'd love to do a neckline like that on one of my soon to be recons. :)

Yep, exactly! :D I cut the sleeves off and added the tabs (as if I was gathering a tank top's shoulder area), and then sewed the sleeves back on. I copied the idea from another top I bought (it had a v-neck with the gathers, for a true sweetheart neckline). I like how it can work with more than one type of neckline though (this one ended up a scoop neck). Thanks for commenting!
