I want to do what you did with the oriental shirt to a t-shirt I found for a friend. What is a princess seam?

I guess I've mistaken, it's called "empire seam".:)I cut the shirt below my bust and resized upper part. Then attached the part I cut before, gathering it. I hope this makes sense:)
