guys GUYS, my professor along with a few other sources says the college I picked for study abroad sucks balls. Also... they refuse to tell me what classes they offer in English!! \oO/ A guy who went said they ended up canceling most of them and he had to take stupid crap like origami and basketball. So I teeter totter over to an adviser with a list

are those all the options? i have a friend that went to japan for a year at some school i don't remember the name to, but he stayed at a japanese family's house. he said the experience was much better.

the one thing that did piss him off was that he learned to hate australians.. which there were a lot of them there apparently... oh yeah and even though the school was "affiliated" with his college, a lot of the credits didn't end up transfering after he came back.

oh yeah and another thing, he came back from japan pretty darn fluent without knowing one word in japanese when he went, most of that from staying with the japanese family. now 6 years later he is back to only knowing english, but claims if he went back he could pick it up pretty quickly.

there are only like 6 schools to choose from, if I go on an exchange outside my school I'm not eligible for funding =/ and I'm poor. I have the option to stay with families yeah, but its sort of luck whether you end up with cool ones or psycho ones that give you an 8pm curfew. I want to be able to sleep in a subway overnight if I so choose to do so =o

I've heard the same thing about Aussies in Japan. They have some sort of open agreement so Aussies can travel to and from Japan freely. They seem to be known for acting like complete assholes there. Of course all the Japanese think they're americans because White+English+Loud = American to them @.@ makes us look bad.

I want to be fluent too =O

I say stick it out and go to Toyo in August. You might as well go where you want while you're there. I would REALLY say Osaka, but since you hate it there so much for some reason, i guess thats out of the equation ;o

I don't hate Osaka I like it! but the school is not technically in Osaka, I'd have to travel an hour to get to town everytime I want to go. =/
