Out of State Colleges/Universities!

Hey y’all, it’s been a while, but recently I’ve been going through some really frustrating circumstances with my education and such - mainly getting wait-listed into nursing programs by stupidly small margins, and being unable to reapply because a lot of the programs are now implementing so-and-so-new rule and basically I’m calling it quits in ( Read more... )

This is a searchable list of schools affiliated with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, which filters by state and type of program.

Entry-level BSN schools in Washington state include Seattle Pacific University, Seattle University, and University of Washington. Oregon has Oregon Health and Science University and the University of Portland, among others. And there's a few in Hawaii. This doesn't offer information on any further details beyond the type of degree offered, but it seems a good starting place for filtering down to a few schools that are worth further investigation.

Yes! I have seen that search engine and am now working my way through it, but I thought I'd get some recs here from people that might've actually been to the schools, BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH! And also University of Pittsburgh is a place where I have heard a lot of good things about. Now it's just about hashing out the details and fine print. Thank you, thank you!

RE: transferring credit and out-of-state schools.

It seems like most schools only let you transfer 2 years worth of credits so that way you'll still spend two years taking their classes. (But of course that usually gets dumb basic requirements out of the way so you can jump into the classes you want.)

And getting aid for out-of-state schools just really depends on where you apply, what your academics are, and your financial situation. Like some of the schools I applied to gave me maybe a thousand dollars while others really gave me a good deal. Usually you can't really tell how much you're going to get until you apply and get accepted though. :\

I'm afraid I don't know anything about BSN programs though! I know my school (Michigan State) has one and you can apply twice, during your Bachelor's and post-Bachelor's, but that's about the extent of my knowledge.

I hope you find something and that any of this blathering helped! :)
