I called to set up an appointment for a hair trimming and ended up with a dinner invite instead.

Our local hairdresser is just fabulous. In addition to his mad hair skilz, he's writing a cookbook. And he sings and plays the piano. And he and I had a bonding experience sharing sheep butchering stories.
The islands aren't really like the rest of the world. I often feel blessed to be living here. (And then it rains some more and I grump... :-))

It was good to hear your voice and know you're doing well. Pema Chodron is the name of the Buddhist nun/writer I was trying to think of. I will find a book of hers for you whenever I unpack.
I picked up a another book for you at the Gali. free store today...Susan Weed's _Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year_. There is a very faint chance that we might go to Vic. on Sunday.... If you haven't made it back to the coast, I can leave it at Pica and Carl's....
Off to dinner soon....tomorrow is Mayne and then.....
