Surprisingly, though, I have no specific House/Wilson-songs, which is weird given the amount of time I spend thinking about House and Wilson. I do have some songs I've used to write H/W fanfic but then usually the story was there first and I groped around in my brain to find a song to go with it.

Hm, well, music's very basic, I think. It sneaks into your brainstem and talks to your lower, instinctive brain functions. Which is why it's very easy to connect to music; you don't need to put any frontal-lobe thought into it. As you have to with a lot of other art forms.
Yeah, I do that, too, sometimes, go and look for songs to fit a specific pairing or character. But I always feel that the songs I find that way don't really fit all that well with whatever I am trying to pair them with. Not as well as they do when I hear the song and the connection just pops into my head.
