. . . in which I say THANK YOU GUYS for the snowflakes. Pretty snowflakes. :3 Thanks for thinking of me! <3

And in which I boggle that there's a Merlin denial comm. I mean, I never really get denial comms, generally, but Merlin? What's wrong with Merlin? It's a big giant love-fest, that show, how could anybody hate it or want to deny it ( Read more... )

I just peeked at the comm, and it looks like a comm for people who can't handle slash. >:)

Dude. You should read the comments. Generally, folks there (myself sometimes included) rant that slash isn't canon (yet).

The posters I was reading were complaining that Merlin had been "dumbed down" in S2 because he'd become closer to Arthur.

bringing the denial to a journal suspiciously looking identical to yours debris_k December 7 2009, 23:29:00 UTC
I was just gonna say that merlin_denial is kinda more and less than it seems - the rants are mostly about the story lines (abysmal and preschool level on a good day), characterizations (utterly slaughtered and misplaced this season for no apparent reason), the much-praised CGI effects (still as laughable as last season, only now with added HYPE!(TM)) and anything else the PTB put the show we'd love to love through. Actors, actual persons responsible for said rant-causing developments, and small animal have not yet been harmed in the rants (as far as I have seen) and hopefully it'll keep being that way.

In short, if any small detail about a Merlin ep you don't like, find that ep's post, and come share the pain, we'd love to have ya! (I'd also love to see Morgana get back her morality, sense of self, and to put on some clothes when in the company of strange men, but I'm weird and in-denial about her that way. ;-) )

Remember when...

...Gwen had no characterization apart from crushing on Merlin and being awkward?

Remember the glorious time before season 2?
I'm not a fan of denial comms on the best of days, but denial comms that are based on wanting one of the few female leads on British television to get less characterization, so the two male leads can have more of it, doesn't sit well with me. In this case, I like it even less, because this female lead is a black woman who can actually act (unlike Katie McGrath and, to a degree, Bradley James), and who, I hope, will make a good career based on her role in this drama ( ... )

Sanctuary.

They didn't kill of Big Guy, thus not taking away my joy of seeing Chris Heyerdahl in two roles. ;D

If you ever watch the show, suspend all disbelief. LOL
