Wednesday Night Ramble

Oct 22, 2009 01:07

I just made pancakes. I had no eggs, so I had to make them without eggs, and the recipe put a ridiculously tiny amount of sugar into them, so I fixed that, and also, I threw some cocoa in there to make them more chocolate-y, and somehow, I managed to get some chili in there as well, so they were a lot more spicy than pancakes usually are ( Read more... )

. . . Ah, ye olde package deal bit. They always want to get you acting! For some reason. It's not the end of the world, doing scenes (I've done . . . how many have I done? Three?), but it's time-consuming. And now I want to try some scenes again, since I am significantly less stagefrighty than I was in college, I think.

I'd go for directing and just plug through the acting bit? At least you'd know the language your performers are versed in, when you direct later. And the ridiculous acting games they make actors learn :\

I hate acting, though. I hate people looking at me. It makes me freeze up. And a camera is even worse. I don't even like having my picture taken, let alone let anyone film me. Let alone let anyone film me while I'm trying to pretend being someone else. :/

I think I'd have to talk to someone and find out how much acting is involved in this directing/performance bit. They're not really too forthcoming about simply providing this information, which is a tad annoying.

I still vaguely think acting looks like fun, but, eh. I'm not sure I'll ever get to the mental space where I could do it. I did a scene where I had to attempt to seduce Tile Guy once. THE STAGE FRIGHT, IT BURNED.

. . . And the guys' parts are always more fun :\

Can't help you with your decisions. With your neighbour you might do a polite smalltalk and in this you might arrange the talking theme to the thin walls so you can say something as like as "yeah it's really annoying that this thin walls make it possible that everyone in this building can hear you by doing the most private things" or something like that. Maybe it's still not in her concious and you can make it aware that you and others can hear her activities with her partner.

Heee, I may have to do that. I've never really talked to them at all--they're two girls, students as well. Maybe I should do the friendly-neighbor thing and bake them cake or something. Eeh, social interactions. So awkward.

I lol'd at "a lot more spicy than pancakes usually are." Because pancakes? Not so much usually spicy *at all*.

I'm a bit curious as to how chili just ended up in there. I'm having tacos, which are supposed to have chili in them, and somehow I have managed not to add any pancakes.

I'm not sure. I have a sneaking suspicion that the chili-and-garlic-and-olive-oil sauce that I made that afternoon had seeped into the spatula (it's made of wood) and that even washing it didn't quite remove the chili aftertaste. But I didn't mind it so much. It was quite tasty, kinda like dark chili chocolate.

I would say go forth and do the directing one because acting is fun :D But then again I am highly biased drama student lol

I sympathise with you on the noisy neighbour front, I had it in my first year (I swear to god, everyone in the rooms around me were all having sex) and I have it this year (the new neighbours sit in their garden and scream talk at each other till the early hours of the morning ¬_¬ )

But course wise choice thing, if you really really don't want to perform then it seems to me like your choice is obvious and you should go the production route.

Idk. I always think my issues with performing are silly. I wouldn't mind so much doing it, if people were to stop looking at me while I am. xD Which kind of renders the whole exercise a bit pointless, of course.

I really enjoy directing, though. And I'm good at it, too, from what I've seen so far. Idk how good I would be at producing. As I said, decisions. HARD.
