I just watched the A2A finale, and while it was weird and confusing and barely held together, it still put so much emphasis on the one thing that I love most about the LoM/A2A 'verse that it made me all flaily

Woah, that's impressive. I really really love what you're saying here.
I don't think I can stand another *minute* of A2A, and I've barely made it through the first episode, so there's not much chance of me immersing myself in that universe again.
But at least I saw LoM, and what you're saying makes a lot of sense. This freedom is very apparent in Sam at the very end, and looking at it this way makes me understand him a lot better.
\o/ I'm glad to hear you approve. I was afraid I'd gone off on some tangent here that made sense to no-one except me. Lol xD.
I have to say, 1x01 of A2A made me laugh so hard. I mean, I didn't really expect anything from the show, because I was so in love with LoM that I knew nothing would be better, so I could enjoy the pure silliness. They screwed up a bit on the whole metaphysical aspect, and I really hate the 80ies, so that makes me cringe a lot, but they sort of do have their moments. For me, anyway.
But yeah, it doesn't really compare to LoM at all. I actually do think that this whole freedom thing was something the producers wanted to get across, and that's why they picked this specific time period. Because freedom of mind though escape from the real world, that's quite a 70ies message. Doors of perception and all that ;).
