The other day I was going through the CNN website, as I do. Nothing too interesting. Oh, Mel the butcher died. Suzanne Plashette (sp?)... I honestly did think to myself ' there hasn't been a good celebrity death in awhile ( Read more... )

When I first heard about this I thought, "Hmm. This has a vaguely River Phoenix type flavor to it." I heard Heath had been found with drugs around. That he'd overdosed. So River was what I was thinking. But this seems a lot different in that it wasn't like he was snorting fat rings of coke off of mirror, or dropping X in a nightclub. He was by himself and it was sleeping pills. That's the latest I've heard. I also heard that he was really depressed over his split up. So it doesn't seem like the typical I can't hack being a celebrity type bullshit. If it was on purpose than you can look at his broken heart, I think, although it makes you wonder about his daughter. I have a feeling though that it was a mistake. So yeah, RIP to him for certain ( ... )

Yeah, my first thought was River Pheonix. If only just due to their age...I still remember where I was when he died, and watching the footage. But the more I look at this one, I think it was completely accidental. So was River's, but come on - with the kind of lifestyle he was apparently living it wasn't out of the realms of possibility. I seriously have my doubts that Heath Ledger was on a mission to get 'fucked up' when he died. I feel bad for his family having to hear all of this conjured up instantaneous crap, where as with River it couldn't have been much of a shock.

I like the Paris / pizza boy scenario. That would be WAY hot!
