There's some evidence of inorganic extraterrestrial life.

Now, I'd like to emphasize that there is some evidence- I doubt anyone is going to go running off claiming that we've definitely spotted aliens. But I think it's likely- sort of ( Read more... )

I notice they didn't mention the fact that the sun is composed entirely of plasma. Could there be life in the heart of Sol?

Does the turbulence of fusion prevent these kinds of reactions from happening? Or does it merely power them?

Have you read Blindsight? Or Diaspora? (which is apparently no longer available, $63 wtf)
Both contain very interesting aliens.

The really interesting aliens are only in one chapter, which was previously published by itself as "Wang's Carpets". It may be slightly easier to find, but the rest of the book is also excellent.
Blindsight is available (along with the rest of Watts's novels) for free at his website.
