Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3***
Jeff was in his office; doing paperwork with the ridiculous glasses he bought to make Jensen laugh; he said he looked like an old man with them on and he liked them for the very same reason
Not long ago he moved his furniture so now the desk was facing the wall and not the door because he got easily distracted by everything happening out there.
He was clearing the garage books when someone covered his eyes and kissed his neck it had to be Jensen, right? “Sweetie, I have to finish this before us…” the deep rumble of the voice surprised him. He pulled the hands away and turned finding a man with blue eyes and a beard; his slightly crooked smiled directed to Jeff ; pretending to be cute.
“Chris!!” he said pushing his chair away with a surprised face. “Hello!1 when did you come back?”
“Come on…” The man said. “I know everyone told you I’m back; you know I’ll be back for summer…” he caressed Jeff’s hair as if he had the right. “And I know that you’re single again; Now that Jensen has that other guy…” he made a face of only half disgust. “Parading his feral around as if it were the most normal thing ever.”
“I’m not parading him around…” Jensen said from the door and stood there looking as disinterested as possible. “Hey… mom is waiting for you, dinner is almost ready.” Jensen was the example of domesticity and love as he approached Jeff and held his hand. “nice to see you Chris.” Jeff didn’t say a word until they were out the door, he pulled his arm free and looked at Jensen.
“Anything else? Mark my neck or something?” Jensen turned at him with a face of pure hatred; something in his eyes was not the usual green it was like deep inside his eyes were glowing. Jeff frowned.
“Maybe if you knew who you belong with.” He snapped t him.
“Belong?” hissed Jeff. “I *belong* to you?” he scoffed. “Since when?”
Jensen was looking at him even angrier. “You make me act like this; if you knew…” and then out of nowhere Jensen went back to be his usual self; he blinked and every grain of anger and possessiveness left him.
Jensen looked around for a just a split second and huffed. “I-I…” he was pale and sweating. “wha…”
Jeff got close and touched his forehead. “What’s wrong with you? You’re so different since Jared arrived.” He said with real sorrow in his voice
Jensen gapped as he turned to the office’s door. “Chris.. I..”
“Wait in the car I’ll talk to him.” Jeff moved and kissed Jensen in the lips before making him turn and sending him to the car. He let out a huff with his eyes closed and marched back into the office.
“Well…” Chris said. “NOW I know who the top is.” He said with an ugly smirk.
Jeff stilled, standing at his full height he looked down at Chris. “Not your damn business kid.”
“I’m not a kid; I’m as old as that one out there.” He countered.
Jeff smiled. “Compared to him...? Compared to me, you’re a kid.” Jeff stated. “I’m glad you’re back, Chris I am, but I’m still with Jensen and I’d really appreciate if you could respect us.” He turned around. “Close the door when you leave.”
Jensen was waiting by the car and when Jeff got close looked at him. “Should I tell him I’m sorry?” Jeff told him no and kissed him before opening the door for him when he heard someone else calling his name; it was Hilary with a small bag from the pharmacy.
“Is every person that has a crush on you in your shop today…” hissed Jensen rubbing his forehead before plastering a smile on his face and turning to the lady.
“Sorry...” she said. “Are you going to your mom’s?” Jensen nodded with the fakest smile on earth. “Would you mind giving her this?” she offered the bag. “I had a call, Mr. Martin pulled on her catheter again and he’s in pain…”
Jensen felt bad immediately, how could he be mean to someone who cared so much for their patients. “Sure…” he said holding the bag as she smiled softly, her eyes schooled away from Jeffrey as if she knew it’ll make Jensen jealous.
“Thank you…” she said as she turned to run to her car; Jeff stood away from the car.
“Thank you Hil… be careful…” Jeff looked intently to her and Jensen huffed.
“I feel like a douche, two in one afternoon…” he said rubbing his face as Jeff smiled caressing his neck. “Not your fault sweetheart.” He started the car.

Jared and Jodie were having a blast; the young carrier could actually talk people’s ears off when someone could actually understand him. he had told Jodie about everything happening in his life; how Jensen seemed to not understand the meaning of cooking and how he kept washing Jared’s stuff taking off his scent and how complicated it was for him to keep track of things with all the weird chemical smells around.
Jodie was laughing at it when Jensen and Jeff entered. Jared turned desperate to the smell of alpha; possessiveness and anger. He got up; every presented omega would’ve done the same; he just moved to him hugged him and scent marked his neck much to Jeff’s dismay.
“Go ahead!!” he said angry. “Is not like I’m just here…”
Jensen was giggling as he tried to push Jared away. “What are you doing?”he said looking at Jeff. “I swear I did nothing…” he said holding Jared still against him.
Jodie got close. “That’s because he sees you as his alpha; the one dominant in charge of him.”
Jeff threw his hands up. “Why everyone thinks he’s the dominant one?” Jodie looked at him and Jeff blushed.
“He’s just trying to comfort him; since he apparently is upset.”
Jensen finally pulled Jared away and smiled. “Thank you… I’m feeling better.” He said and without knowing why he bent down and kissed Jared’s forehead. “You’re very sweet.” When Jared let him go saying things in his language Jensen turned to Jodie.
“He’s feeling better and says he’s sorry for the car incident.” It was Jeff who asked about it even before his mom.
Jensen had a guilty face. “I fed him chocolate…” Jodie laughed Jeff made a face of disgust while his mother offered Jared a cooing sound as Jensen moved ahead. “I’m sorry I got you sick…” Jared mewled on the hug and buried his face against Jensen’s chest.
“So… mom, I saw Hil; she sent me this for you, apparently Mr. Martin needed her.”
“I like that girl…” Jodie said getting her pills and moving to get some water for them. “Do you know she could be anywhere else but chose to stay around her hometown?”
Jeff smiled without thinking about it. “Really?” his mom was coming back and looked at him as if he were crazy. “What?” he hid his eyes as he marched to the kitchen. “I could start dinner before Jared decides to burn us something outside.”
Jodie went after him. “No need… I already have the grill ready, we’re eating outside” she said passing near to her son and opening the fridge. “You carry them for me; I’ll be the one burning stuff.”
In the end Jeff cooked and it was delicious, Jensen was in his third serving of ribs and licking his fingers with sticky sounds as Jodie tried unsuccessfully to make Jared eat some more, he had only tried some. “Maybe he doesn’t like the sauce.” She said moving to get him one of the ribs with almost no sauce on it.
.
Jensen frowned. “Hey…” he said still chewing as he moved to Jared and offered him one piece from his dish. “Come here…” he said and Jared took it smiling coy and had a bite.
Jeff sat in front of them next to his mother. “I’m starting to get this weird idea of him having a crush on Jensen.”
Jensen scoffed. “NO!! It’s just… poor thing he’s all alone.” Without control one of his arms flew to pull Jared next to him and Jeff noticed how this time Jared was clutching the piece of meat as if it were the last bit he’ll ever have.

The ride home was far quieter than the way home once they left Jensen’s car at the car wash. Jeff drove them and Jared was in the backseat sleeping.
Jeff held Jensen’s hand and kissed it. “So… what do you think we should do about Jared?”
Jensen looked at him. “What do you mean?”
Jeff let out a huff. “he can’t stay with you indefinitely.”
Jensen pulled his hand free. “and why not? I live alone, I have enough room and… and….” He noticed Jeff not paying attention to him. “would you mind even pretending you’re listening?” Jeff’s hand flew to the space between his seat and the gear stick where he had a handgun. Jensen turned to the road and saw four creatures standing there, they looked like zombies from one of those TV shows; ragged pieces of material covering only bits of their skin; one female and three males; obviously the female was the older one; all of them scenting the air like hungry dogs. “Why are they here?” Jensen asked worried as if Jeff knew. Jeff slowed down a bit in case they were to try to cross the road; Jensen by instinct took his jacket and tossed it over Jared’s prone form in the backseat. The ferals looked at them and the woman made a movement with one shoulder.
“Step on the gas, Jeff!!!” Jeff did just that as the creatures let out dreadful howls and started chasing the truck.
The female was left behind as she roared a shrilling roar.
Jared gasped opening his eyes and made a sound, a word everyone knew because it was a common insult. “Mongrels”.

Jensen moved to the backseat with Jared holding the boy down while pointing Jeff’s gun to the creatures that came running after them at an unnatural speed. “Why are they still behind us!!” Jensen asked as one of the males the taller one threw his claws with a scary snarl.
Jared made a sound and Jensen turned at him to notice the boy holding his stomach and biting his lips; Jensen just knew what had happened. They passed the entrance into Jensen’s land they sprinted to the house; Jensen had a shotgun inside and came back carrying it. Jeff took it and shot to the land right in front of the ferals’ feet. Making them stop, they tried to run around the fence and enter and Jeff shot a second charge hurting one in the leg, just a scratch enough to make him hiss in pain and pull away.
“That’ll show him.” Jeff let out in a gruff voice, Jared was inside the car still and Jensen was recording everything on his phone; even the words the woman was screaming. Jeff loaded the shot gun one last time and shot to the woman hurting her in the foot, she yowled in pain and the males took her dragging her back into the woods.
“Call the police or something!!” shouted Jeff as he moved to take Jared out of the car and into the house. “You were right… he’s better off with you.”
Wildlife service arrived almost four hours latter and the guy looked all too not impressed with the news of Jeff shooting an -he said- innocent defenseless creature.
Jensen showed the man the video and the man dismissed it. “Poor thing might have been hungry.” Jared growled at him and went inside. “They’re not pets you know? He should go back to the wild.”
Jensen crossed his arms offended. “Jared?” the man came into the room hissing softly as he faced the stranger in the terrace. “Be my guest, explain him he has to leave.”
The man turned to Jared and speaking loud and slow “You go home!!” he said making a shoo motion with his hands. Jared frowned looking at him and moved to a side, towards the way the man asked and faced Jensen with a WTF expression.
Jensen scrunched his nose, rolled his eyes and side eyed him holding his smile; Jared was not that polite he openly laughed at the man before turning around and going to Jeff; who apparently just came into his good grace.
“Do you know their dialect?” Asked Jensen forwarding the video to the part where the sound of the woman’s voice was easily understood.
The man raised a hand in a stop motion. “Do I look like one of those nerds that will care to learn them?”
Jensen bit his lips and then said “no, of course not.” They let the man fill his report and leave and then they contacted the sheriff, he was an old friend of Jodie and they hoped he’d be more useful.
Jared entered the house without protest for once and Jeff decided to stay the night just in case. Jared sat in the couch with them this time without protest and even went to the bathroom!
“What’s wrong with him?” asked Jeff. “He’s so… docile.”
Jensen pushed his hands away from him and looked at his boyfriend angry. “he’s not a fucking dog!” but then they heard Jared yelping at the loud sound and coming back running to tuck himself next to Jeff eyeing the shotgun in front of him as if it were the only thing saving him from hell. “I believe those things… you know they raped Jared, I’m sure.”
Jensen made a motion and Jared moved to him holding the man for dear life as he scented him. “You’re safe with me, I’m going to keep you safe I promise.” He said not paying attention at the growl.
He woke up when the moon was high in the sky. “Jeff?” the man was standing by the door; Jensen left the boy on the couch as quietly as possible and moved to the window with him. “What happens?” he asked holding Jeff by the waist and pulling him a bit.
“They’re back.” The older man said and Jensen tensed; out there in the dark the same three males were standing, the female was gone. “I really hope I didn’t kill her….”
“Nobody is going to know…”
“I’m not afraid of jail sweetheart…” Jeff said rubbing Jensen’s hand. “I’m afraid of what they’ll do to avenge her.”
One of them the oldest was shouting something and Jensen recorded it once more; they were hearing it over and over wondering what it meant.
Jared repeated the sounds startling them both and looking down. He repeated it again but neither of his friends could understand the word.
“He repeated and then frustrated took a letter from the table and forced it on Jensen’s hand. Jensen looked at the thing in his hand.
“They want a letter?” asked Jensen looking at Jeff. “You think they need paper? Shelter? Blankets?”
Jared extended his hand then and repeated the words again pointing to the envelope. “Give it back?” Jensen said and gave the envelope to Jared; the guy then repeated the same word and pointed to his own chest.
“Give him back to us.” Said Jeff angry finally understanding while Jensen moved to hold the scared boy. “NO!!” he said, we won’t send you back to them, not tonight, not ever.”
